What it is

ICTC, in partnership with Microsoft Canada, has established a program that aims to advance job seekers who are looking for an opportunity to add to their existing technical skills and diversify their professional experience. This innovative, employment-readiness initiative, also known as the Digital Equity and Employability Pathways (DEEP) program, works with underrepresented individuals from across the country in an effort to train and upskill talent looking to grow their careers in an ICT or digital field in Canada.

Microsoft Learning Pathways

Microsoft, LinkedIn, and GitHub are bringing together the best of their resources to help you:

  • Get free access to learning content across LinkedIn Learning*, Microsoft Learn, and GitHub, ranging from entry-level digital literacy skills to advanced skills for technical roles.
  • Earn industry-recognized Microsoft Certification at a reduced-cost**
  • Access LinkedIn job search tools and free courses to gain the confidence and know-how you need to turn your new digital skills into opportunity!

These ten learning pathways were identified by Microsoft as leading to the most in-demand careers over the past four years that are expected to grow in importance post-COVID:

Career Connector

Microsoft's Career Connector is a new, invite-only service that connects Job Seekers and Microsoft’s Employer and Skilling Partners, who help employers in hiring skilled talent; thereby, increasing economic opportunity for all.

Career Connector is more than just a digital job board. Its AI-powered technology and a team of seasoned recruiters enable hands-on screening and placement services. Career Connector helps employers across industries find the right job seeker in an easier and faster manner.

*Free access to LinkedIn Learning content is available in English, Spanish, French, and German.

**Participants will be able to schedule one exam at a reduced rate, and will have until December 31, 2021 to complete the exam. There will be no opportunity to retake the exam. Participants must attest they are currently unemployed or furloughed due to COVID-19. All exams are available in English, Spanish, French, and German.
